King Abdulaziz University believes that the academic departments are the cornerstone of the educational process and the basis for achieving its objectives and implementing its strategies. Thus, in this spirit, the university’s continuous support to the academic departments has ultimately given birth to the idea of establishing an advisory Forum for the heads of the departments in both male and female sections. This was an initiative proposed by a group of faculty members at the university to the Vice-president for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdel Moneim Al-Hayyani.

It can be claimed that the first forum received remarkable attendance by department heads. This has indeed made the Forum organizers aspire to organize it annually. The current plan is to organize the Forum in the first semester, followed by supporting activities in the second semester. These activities will include workshops and training courses that will contribute to fulfil the goals of the Forum, and to ensure the enhancement of competence and the quality of the performance of department heads.
